Palacký University Olomouc (Czech: Univerzita Palackého v Olomouci) is the oldest university in Moravia and the second-oldest in the Czech Republic. Its history dates back to 1573, when it was founded by the Jesuit order in Olomouc, then the capital of Moravia. Initially, it offered only theology, but soon philosophy, law, and medicine were added. Today, it is a modern public university combining more than 450 years of academic tradition with innovative approaches to education and research.
The Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry of Palacký University plays a key role within the institution. Although its origins date back to the 18th century, it was re-established in 1946. In the 1950s, it was the only faculty operating at the university. Today, it offers a six-year Master’s degree program in General Medicine and a five-year program in Dentistry, both available in Czech and English. In addition, the faculty provides 23 doctoral programs in both languages.
Practical training takes place mainly at the University Hospital Olomouc, the largest medical facility in the region. The hospital has more than 1,400 beds and nearly 50 departments and clinics. It was here, in 1905, that the world’s first successful human tissue transplant was performed by Eduard Konrad Zirm. The hospital was modernized and expanded between 1992 and 2004, and in 2014 the modern Institute of Molecular and Translational Medicine was established, focusing on infectious diseases and cancer research.
The Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry is also a strong research hub, concentrating on four main areas: oncology, cardiovascular diseases, experimental toxicology and pharmacology, and organ transplantation. Research teams specialize in molecular biology, immunology, and epidemiology, making the faculty one of the most dynamic medical centers in the Czech Republic. In 2019, more than 2,300 students studied at the faculty, confirming its strong position both nationally and internationally.

The Medicine program at Palacký University in Olomouc is a 6-year full-time program taught in English. It combines modern theoretical education with extensive hospital and clinical practice.
The tuition fee is €12,500 per year.
🦷 Dentistry at Palacký University in Olomouc
The Dentistry program at Palacký University in Olomouc lasts 5 years and is conducted entirely in English. It focuses on practical training from the early years, preparing students for clinical work in international environments.
The tuition fee is €14,000 per year.
To apply for the Medicine or Dentistry program at Palacký University in Olomouc, candidates must have completed secondary school.
All applicants for the Master’s degree programme in General Medicine or Dentistry must successfully complete their A-levels in three subjects. There is no minimum grade requirement.
It is possible to apply before completing A-levels. The equivalent of A-levels (a completed high school/secondary school education in a country where A-levels are not awarded) is also accepted.
All applicants for the Master’s degree programme are required to pass the entrance examination. The exam consists of a written test in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics.
Applicants who are not native English speakers must provide proof of English proficiency. The following certificates are accepted:
Cambridge Exam (minimum FCE),
IELTS (minimum score 6),
TOEFL (minimum score 87),
Psychometric Test,
PTE Academic (minimum score 59).
Alternatively, candidates may take the university’s own English language test. Applicants who can prove that their secondary or higher education was fully conducted in English are exempt from the language test.
Please note: the entrance examination can only be taken once per academic year.
In 2026, the entrance exams for Medicine and Dentistry at Palacký University in Olomouc will take place on four dates:
Exam dates for September 2026 enrolment will be published in early 2026.
Application deadline: two weeks before the selected entrance examination date.
Students who wish to transfer from another university should plan to take the exam as early as possible (preferably in June or max! in early August), as additional time is needed to submit applications for subject recognition and credit transfers. Each candidate can take the entrance exam for their chosen program (Medicine or Dentistry) only once per year.
The fee for taking the medical entrance exam is €80.

At the beginning, you need to select the appropriate faculty – Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. Then choose “Form” – “Master”, and finally select the “Field” – either Dentistry or General Medicine. It is very important to mark the option “I am applying through an agency” in the “Additional information” section, and in the pop-up box, enter “Filip Rzepecki Pośrednictwo.”

FYI:
– If you have not completed your secondary education yet, you can upload the last results from your school that you have available (from the past semester or year)
– If you do not have any tertiary education transcripts, upload your secondary school transcript or a pdf file stating “no tertiary education”
– For Proof of English Proficiency, a respective certificate (TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge English, PTE Academic, Psychometric test result) should be uploaded or a letter from your school, confirming English was a medium of instruction throughout your secondary education.
– If you do not have any of the above mentioned English proficiency certificate, upload a pdf file stating “I have no proof of English proficiency”.
